Angelsey Abbey – Snowdrop

Snowdrop Walk

As you may gather Angelsey Abbey is one of our ‘Go-To’ places to go when we are not too sure about the weather and do not want to travel too far.

It is Snowdrop time and the Abbey’s snowdrop walks were open so we decided to take advantage of an unseasonably warm early February day and get along. We did the walk last year, but were a little late, and the flowers were just past their best, so decided to get there early this year, and pleased that we did as they were brilliant. As an added bonus there were also some early flowering daffs, plus an incredibly large number of squirrels digging up their nuts – if you’ll excuse the expression.

The Abbey grounds are massive, and not all areas are open at anyone time. This time we managed to get to see the Temple lawn, Herbaceous and Dahlia gardens and Jubilee walk, all of which have been closed off on previous visits.

Anyway enjoy the pics.
